ISO 2022

Official name : ISO-2022:1994 : Information Technology - Character code structure and extention techniques.
ECMA 35 is identical to this standard.
It uses designation sequences, which have to be registerd with the ISO (more info).

ISO-2022-CN

This 7 bit modal encoding method is described in RFC 1922 (Chinese Character Encoding for Internet Messages).

ISO-2022-CN-EXT

This is an extension of ISO-2022-CN. It has support for more character sets.
